Front End Engineer

Alexa Internet is seeking a talented, adaptable, analytical Front End Engineer to develop our website and client-facing software products. The ideal candidate is an expert in both client-side and server-side front end production. On the client-side, we require world-class expertise with robust, cross-platform CSS and HTML, and with JavaScript / jQuery. On the server-side, we require experience with developing in the MVC design pattern, specifically with PHP on the Zend framework.

Responsibilities:

* Participate in the development of functional requirements for product front-ends, then translate them into robust, scalable, supportable solutions.
* Produce quality code, manage cross-platform compatibility, and create usable documentation for both internal and external consumption.
* Proactively evaluate and implement new software products and tools.

Qualified candidates also possess:

* BS in CS, CE, EE, Math (or related)
* One or more years of experience with the following technologies:
o Markup Languages: HTML, CSS, XML
o Scripting Languages: PHP, Javascript (with jQuery)
o Patterns / Paradigms: MVC (PHP on Zend)
o Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
o DBMS: MySQL

Senior Toolbar Engineer

Alexa Internet is seeking an experienced engineer to help develop our cross-browser toolbar platform. Alexa's toolbars are the backbone of our web information community and have been downloaded by millions of people. As a senior engineer you will be responsible for maintaining the technical vision for the platform and developing APIs, add-ons and components for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and other up and coming browsers. If you live and breathe browser add-ons, this is the job for you.

As one of a small team of engineers, you will have a major impact on Alexa's business. You will participate in the full development cycle, from design, implementation, and testing, to documentation, delivery, and maintenance. Alexa maintains a fast-paced, startup-like culture that values innovation, focus, efficiency, and bias for action.
Responsibilities:

* Build add-ons for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and other up-and-coming browsers.
* Own the technical vision for our cross-browser scripting API.
* Participate in the development of functional requirements, then translate them into robust, scalable, supportable solutions.
* Produce quality code, manage cross-platform compatibility, and create usable documentation for both internal and external consumption.
* Proactively evaluate and implement new software products and tools.

Qualified candidates possess:
